I will be posting my final grades to Spectrum in 24 hours (1pm on Dec 12). I will NOT be accepting late work after NOON on Dec 12. Please make sure all late work is in by that time.

If you have any questions or feel that there is an error in my gradebook (GradeWatch), please bring it to my attention ASAP so that the error can be corrected before I post grades on Spectrum.

Traffic Notice - November 21

On Friday, November 21, 2008, from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm, traffic patterns on three of the four main streets surrounding the campus will be altered to accommodate the First Tennessee True Blue 5K and pep rally presented by the Young Alumni Committee. Patterson, Walker, Central and Zach Curlin will be affected.

Open House Nov 21

The Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis will open its doors to the community and to hundreds of middle school, high school, and community college students during its E-Day open house Friday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event will showcase engineering activities and research being conducted at the Herff College, located along Central Avenue on the U of M campus.

Requisition Number: 5647 Location: Huntsville, AL Status: Full Time Shift: 1st Department: 376 Description: Engage in the following testing efforts focused on Networking Products: Design, plan and execute tests to discover defects in product software as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Will utilize the following types of testing as needed for each software release: Functional testing, system testing, exploratory testing, regression testing, performance testing and conformance testing. Work closely with development engineers to resolve defects. Assist in the administration of the product defect database. Responsible for ensuring that testing effort stays focused on detecting defects that are most likely to be discovered in customer applications. Provide feedback to development engineers to help improve product usability. Assist in the organization and ongoing build-out of engineering internetworking test labs. Work closely with other DVT engineers and PQ engineers that will also be part of the Netvanta/ADTRAN OS test team. Closing Date: 2/21/2009 Education: Bachelor.s degree Experience: 0-5 years of experience. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. High level of Motivation. Exceptional ability to detect errors in complex systems and troubleshoot root causes. Track record of good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Experience in the area of networking or telecommunication highly desirable. Experience with testing or quality assurance highly desirable.

ROTC Training

The Air Force ROTC unit will be training on campus this Friday night, November 14, from 7:00 PM until approximately midnight. They will be training in a larger area than usual, from the Engineering complex to the Zach Curlin Garage, between the Student Activities Plaza and Zach Curlin Street (almost the entire east side of campus). They will be in camouflage uniforms and carrying mock weapons, so don't be alarmed if they happen to encounter any of the trainees.


Herff College of Engineering - Town Hall Meeting

The University of Memphis Student Branch of Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) will meet Tuesday Sep 16th at 4:15pm in ET 233. Pizza will be served. To join bring a check for $10 (the fee is really $20, but the SME Professional branch pays the other $10 for students) and an Application Form.
