What is a Student Professional Awareness Conference (S-PAC)?

Engineers must be proficient, professionally astute, and clearly aware of their responsibility to society. Student Professional Awareness Conferences (S-PACs, pronounced "ess-paks") explore the subjects that affect engineers' careers, regardless of how well engineers prepare themselves technically.

This IEEE sponsored event is to unite students and professionals to learn, network and grow by interacting with each other through non-technical presentations by speakers from different parts of the country.

The event will take place on Feb. 6, 2009 at the Botanic Gardens in Memphis. Cost is $10 for Students and $25 for Professionals.

They will be training in a larger area than usual, from the Engineering complex to the Zach Curlin Garage, between the Student Activities Plaza and Zach Curlin Street (almost the entire east side of campus). They will be in camouflage uniforms and carrying mock weapons, so don't be alarmed if they happen to encounter any of the trainees.
