There is currently a bill in the state Legislature HR 2686 that, if passed will allow you as a holder of an Engineering Technology Degree to sit for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam. This could open doors currently closed to Engineering Technologists.I encourage you to read the summary (linked above) and to be aware that this legislation could have an effect on your future career.
Already some groups are opposing this bill (See LINK)
Student - Professional Awarness Conference
The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) established the S-PAC as a career growth and professional awareness conference that focuses on bringing both the students and professional worlds together for a networking event and seminar on engineering related topics. This year The Memphis Section of IEEE has organized a variety of engineering societies from Arkansas State University, Christian Brothers University, The University of Memphis, The University of Tennessee at Martin, The University of Mississippi, and Union University to participate in the S-PAC.Approximately 100 electrical, computer, mechanical, chemical, biomedical, and civil engineering students from these six universities will participate in the conference.
IEEE will provide two nationally distinguished speakers who will give presentations on Career Growth and Self-Management.

Linux Accounts
The server used for my CETH1211 (Spring 09) and CETH2251 (Fall 08) has been moved on campus. You can still use your existing account, but set up PuTTY to use the host name programming.tech-uofm.info and 22 for the port or you can also use a java enabled web browser by following THIS LINK.If you have not had me for programming, but would like access to a linux server (for C, C++, web page design, php, senor projects or any other reasons) please see me during my office hours and I will be glad to set you up an account.
Internet Controlled Robot Arm
Over the summer, we have been working on a new "CETH" display. Although it is still a work in progress, one item is an Internet Controlled Robot Arm. Try it by clicking on the button below.
If you would like to help improve the display, have something you would like to show off, or would like to improve the robot arm web pages or controls, see Professor Kohn in ET 218.
Senior Project Equipment
Do you know what you want to do for senior projects but don't have the equipment or money to buy it? These are parts that I have acquired over the years that can be borrowed for CETH and EETH projects.
Do you need a computer that you can install special programs on, or just need a computer to work on? I have set up a computer with swappable drives (with disks for Win98, WinXP, Win 7 and DOS available).
